HACKENSACK, N.J. — Parents and Korean-American organization leaders are asking administrators at Bergen County Academies in Hackensack to step up after one of the school's teachers was accused of making anti-Korean remarks to her students, according to multiple reports.

The Spanish teacher, whose name has not yet been released, told her students that she hates Koreans, reported.

School authorities promised parents an investigation, but says that administrators remain tight-lipped, nearly two months after the incident.

Bergen County Technical Schools' Superintendent Howard Lerner told parents and organization leaders at a news conference in Palisades Park on Friday that he could not comment on the alleged incident, reports.

Korean-American leaders said the teacher has been moved to a different classroom and offered apologies to the students, says.

Although it's a step in the right direction to the organization leaders, they are seeking a written apology from the school and want to know which preventative measures will be put in place, the article says.
