TEANECK, N.J. — Teaneck resident Alice H. Helms died Thursday, April 28. She was 87.
Helms was a member of The Pocono Mountain Quilters’ Guild and won numerous awards for her craft.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Helms-Byrne and her husband Raymond; her grandchildren, Kimberly Helms, Peter Helms and Brandon P. Byrne; and her great-grandson, Tyler Smith.
She was predeceased by her husband, Pete Helms; and her son, Donald P. Helms, and his wife Emily.
Friends and family are invited for visitation Saturday, April 30, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Road, in Teaneck.
A service during her visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helms' name to the Bergen County Animal Shelter, 100 United Lane, Teterboro, NJ 07608 would be appreciated.
