The district has purchased 8 new drinking fountains with filters to replace the 8 that were disconnected in the schools after a preliminary report indicated elevated levels of lead in some areas of six schools and Eugene Field Administration Building, according to the district's website.

The affected fountains will remain off until installation is complete, the website says.

The district is still waiting for the final report from Environmental Design.
