Unanimous Teaneck Council Selects Romney-Rice For Open Seat

TEANECK, N.J. -- All six Teaneck council members Wednesday night voted Gervonn Romney-Rice into a seat created by the death of former Mayor Lizette Parker.

Romney-Rice — who served on the Teaneck Board of Education for nine years — will assume her position as a council member until Teaneck voters fill the seat on Nov. 8.

"I look forward to having someone who served the Board of Education serve the council," Councilman Mark Schwartz told Daily Voice. "I also look forward to having Gervonn help us collaborate with the Board of Education to further serve the residents of Teaneck."
