Todd Jackman, 52, who lives in a high-rise housing complex on 8th Avenue (aka Frederick Douglass Boulevard) surrendered to Teaneck police this morning after discovering that investigators had obtained a warrant for his arrest, Molinelli confirmed.

As reported exclusively on CLIFFVIEW PILOT last month, authorities believe the death of Tracey Brown is an odd coincidence: Brown, 48, once lived a few doors down from the man accused of shooting the rapper Kampane and just up the block from an alleged accomplice.

Brown was struck and killed a little after 11 o’clock Aug. 25 on Teaneck Road, a block north of the Route 4 on and off ramps.

Molinelli said Jackman was identified as the driver of a 1992 Chevrolet Van that first hit Brown. She was struck by a second vehicle whose driver also left the scene.

Investigators have been unable to find the two-toned brown van — which bore Pennsylvania license plates — but they know that it was repaired the day after the crash “in an effort to conceal the crime,” the prosecutor said.

Anyone who knows where it might be is asked to call Teaneck police: (201) 837-2600.

Jackman, who is employed full time as a supervisor with EBC Sports Foundation in Manhattan, is being held on $100,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident. He is due in Teaneck Municipal Court on Monday afternoon.

Molinelli cited Teaneck police and the NYPD for their work on the case, which was cracked by detectives from his Fatal Accident Investigation Unit.
