Kevin Wright, 48, was being held on $200,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with sexual assault, criminal sexual contact and child endangerment.
Wright was arrested Tuesday after the alleged victim – now 19 – told her mother, who called Englewood police, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said early this afternoon.
Detectives from Englewood and Molinelli’s Special Victims Unit interviewed the girl before making the arrest, he said.
“During that interview, the victim provided specific details describing how she was sexually assaulted on several occasions by [Wright], who was a close friend of a relative of the victim,” the prosecutor said.
Wright, who is single, has an arraignment scheduled for Aug. 13.
