Witnesses reported seeing a woman flee in a vehicle following the Williams Street slashing just before 4 p.m., Detective Capt. Timothy Torell told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The man was hospitalized and is refusing to cooperate in the investigation, Torell said.

“Without the victim’s cooperation, we’re pretty much in a holding pattern, despite the man having sustained a significant wound to his face,” the captain said.

“We do know that the attack was not random and occurred as a result of an ongoing dispute between the two,” he added.
