Officer Jon Sommer was patrolling the snowy streets when he spotted the black 2012 Jeep Liberty illegally parked in the fire zone in front of the Pathmark on New Bridge Road.
As he was writing the summons, he was approached by the owner, 40-year-old Martyse A. Lewis, Capt. Cathy Madalone said.
A computer check turned up the suspension and the active warrant out of Teaneck, she said.
Lewis was arrested and charged with parking in a fire zone, driving while suspended and having unclear license plates.
His mother brought his $165 bail for the warrant and picked Lewis up, Madalone said.
