Keenan Draughon, 23, of Clarksville, also had high-capacity magazines for the weapons, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.
Draughon told an attendant what he had when he checked in. Police immediately were called.
They found two 9-millimeter pistols, two magazines capable of holding 15 rounds of 9-millimeter ammo, and two .22-caliber rifles. One of the rifles had a round in the chamber, and both were missing serial numbers.
The two rifles had been painted, one purple and one silver.
Drauhon, who was bound for Charlotte, He was arrested on weapons counts, Pentangelo said. An investigation was continuing.
