Detective Lt. Andrew McGurr said the victim told police he was walking south on Teaneck Road near the Bryant School around 10:15 last night when he saw one of the men, whom he thought he recognized.

As they approached one another, a second man jumped out from behind a bush and both threw him to the ground, he told police. Then then fled with his valuables on Intervale Road, he said.

The man, who wasn’t injured, said both were black. He described one as roughly six feet tall, with a thin or medium build and a dark complexion, wearing a gray hoodie.

The second was described about five-foot-10, thin, wearing a white hoodie with a black ski mask.
