Police Hunt For Driver Who Killed Englewood Cyclist In Teaneck

TEANECK, N.J. -- Authorities were seeking the public's help finding the driver whose vehicle struck and killed a 50-year-old Englewood bicyclist in Teaneck.

Juan Vasquez was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center after he was struck just before 11 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the intersection of East Englewood Avenue and Nelden Road in Teaneck, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said.

Police had found Vasquez sitting on a grassy area nearby, the prosecutor noted. He was riding on East Englewood Avenue when he hit the vehicle's passenger side as the driver made a left onto Nelden Road, he said.

The vehicle continued souh on Nelden Road, witnesses told police.

It "may have damage to passenger front door area or B pillar," Molinelli said.
