Eui H. Shon, voluntarily went to borough police headquarters after they found his 2001 Acura TL at his Palisades Park residence, Capt. Patrick Kissane said Tuesday night.

A short time earlier, he'd had the damage repaired at an auto body shop, Kissane said.

The mother declined hospital transportation after she and her child sustained minor injuries in the 4:30 p.m. incident on Monday, the captain said.

Shon was headed east on Main Street when he made a left onto northbound Center Avenue, striking the two, Kissane said.

He continued onto Center Avenue, stopped and got out of the car, then got back in and took off, the captain said.

Shon was released pending a July 7 hearing in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack on charges that include:

  • assault by auto;
  • leaving the scene of crash with injuries and failing to report it;
  • hindering apprehension;
  • careless and reckless driving;
  • using a cellphone while driving.
