Do YOU know this man? He robbed a Teaneck drug store with a hammer

Police hope crystal-clear images will lead them to a 6-foot-tall black man, in his late 20s or early 30s, who robbed a CVS Pharmacy  on Cedar Lane by waving a hammer at a clerk, Teaneck Detective Capt. Dean Kazinci said.

The robber has close-cropped facial hair and a gold or silver lower tooth. He was wearing a grey hat, black bubble jacket, tan cargo pants and sneakers when he walked into the store at 8:08 p.m., the captain said.

The employee told police he caught the thief stuffing a Hallmark “Happy Birthday” gift bag with the medications, then asked whether the man needed any help.

The robber then pulled a black and silver hammer from his cargo pants, raised it up “and made an aggressive motion towards the employee as if he was going to hit him with it,” Kazinci said.

The employee left and dialed 911 as the robber made off with roughly $640 dollars worth of Mucinex and Prevacid.

Anyone with information that could help catch the bandit is asked to the Teaneck Police Department at 201-837-2600. Detective Michael Richter is the case investigator. Tell him you saw the story on CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM. There could be a reward: Teaneck Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 dollars for any information given to police that leads to an arrest.

DO NOT try and grab him yourself. He is considered dangerous.

Police say he may have shoplifted drugs from another CVS, this one in Elmwood Park, about an hour before the Teaneck incident.
