UPDATE (Jan. 9): A New York City social worker who lives in Teaneck turned himself in to face charges in the Christmas night hit-and-run death of a township man, Daily Voice has learned. TEANECK, N.J. -- Authorities said Friday that the vehicle that struck and killed a Teaneck man as he crossed Cedar Lane a block from his home on Christmas night is a black 2003-2005 Honda Pilot believed to possibly have damage to the front passenger bumper, hood and windshield.
After hitting 59-year-old Steven J. Leitgeb at 6:47 p.m. at Garrison Avenue, the vehicle continued east on Cedar Lane and then south on Palisade Avenue ( see surveillance image, above ), authorities said.
Leitgeb was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he died.
