Police on Friday released surveillance images of the robber, who entered the 7-Eleven at 1247 Teaneck Road around 11 p.m., Feb. 27, and hopped the counter with a large handgun.

The robber "held the gun to the cashier’s head and demanded that he open the cash drawer," Police Chief Robert A. Carney said. "The cashier and another employee were too nervous to remember how to open the drawer."

That's when he ripped the drawer out and took off with it, the chief said.

He asked that anyone with information that could help the investigation call Teaneck police at (201) 837-2600. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact the Tri Community Crime Stoppers at (201) 833-4222, which pays up to $1,000 cash rewards.
