Former Teaneck Teacher, Theresa Quatrone, Dies At 83

LODI, N.J. -- Theresa (Pizzi) Quatrone, of Lodi, died on Saturday, Feb. 18. She was 83.

Raised in Garfield, Quatrone earned her bachelor's degree from Trenton State University and her master's degree from William Paterson State University. She majored in education and taught in the primary grades at Teaneck, Paramus and Saddle Brook.

She was a retired member of the NJEA, BCEA, SBEA and the Women's Italian American Forum. She was a Eucharistic minister and lector at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, in Garfield, and a lector at Saint Joseph Church, in Lodi. She also taught CCD at the former. 

Quatrone is survived by husband of 58 years, Anthony; children Frank and his wife Kimberly, Joseph and his wife Deborah, Vincent and his wife Donna, and Mary-Jo Quatrone Farber and her husband David; grandchildren Frankie, Juliana, Anthony, Giovanna, Alyssa, Olivia, Max and Jenna; siblings John and Angelina; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Pizzi; brothers Joseph and his wife Rose, Dr. Peter Pizzi and his wife Betty, Frank and his wife Dorothy, Louis and Angelo; and brother-in-law James Quatrone.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 Main St., in Lodi. The funeral will be from the funeral home at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, with an 11 a.m. funeral mass at the Mount Virgin Church.
