Raymond Ortuno, 83, Teaneck Resident

TEANECK, N.J. -- Raymond Ortuno, of Teaneck, died on Thursday, Jan. 19. He was 83.

Ortuno was a 35-year member of the National Guard, a Boy Scout leader and a 25,000-hour volunteer at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ridgewood.

"He was always positive, had an extreme work ethic and was really a good guy," information from the funeral home noted.

Ortuno is survived by his children, Lita Cooper and her husband Mike, Steve Ortuno and his life partner Linda Piano, Melissa Ortuno and her significant other Marilyn Brown; grandchildren Larry Kirwan, Kevin Cooper, Dawne Causeman, Jackie Frawley, Lindsay Frers and Samantha Ortuno; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Teresa Fuller.

He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary (Londsdale).

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 23, at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 789 Teaneck Rd., in Teaneck. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, 62 Cedar St., in Ridgefield Park, meeting directly at the church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Hawthorne.
