TEANECK, N.J. – Michael Peter Persico, 71, of Seaford, Del., formerly of Teaneck, died Wednesday, Sept. 30.
The son of the late Anthony J. Persico, M.D. and Grace N. Persico, he graduated from Xavier High School in New York City, earned his bachelor’s degree at Holy Cross College in Worcester, Mass. and his juris doctorate from the University of Miami.
He was a member of the bar association in both Washington D.C. and Florida. He was a member of the Supreme Court Bar. He was the human resources manager of the Maryland Jockey Club and clerk of the courts for the District of Columbia Superior Court.
He was a counsel for the E.E.O.C. headquarters and belonged to the Potomac, Maryland Polo Club. He was a group facilitator of AIDS/H.I.V. patients at the Whitman Walker Clinic in Washington D.C. and also was a lay minister and a grief counselor at the Aids Memorial Quilt display at the National Mall.
He was the husband of Robert Scofield; brother of three siblings; and uncle of three nephews.
