When Neville attended Teaneck High School, she was the recipient of numerous academic and track awards. "She continued her education, studying mathematics until she found the calling of her life raising her children and her family," according to information from the funeral home.
"Mary's greatest pleasure was being with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We learned many valuable lessons from Mary during her 91 years. Most importantly, we learned the importance of a strong sense of family and the significance of faith in the Lord and yourself."
She was survived by her children, Mary Ellen, Margaret, Barbara, Christine, Marian, James, Melanie, Dorothy and Justine; brother John Suglia; sister-in-law Nancy Suglia; 27 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Neville was predeceased by her husband, Dr. James M. Neville, daughter Joan, grandchild Eoin and great-grandchild Nathan.
Visiting hours will be from 7-8:30 p.m. on Friday, March 11, at the C.C. Van Emburgh Funeral Home, 306 East Ridgewood Ave., in Ridgewood. A memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at St. Luke's Catholic Church, in Ho-Ho-Kus.
