He was born Feb.21, 1940, in Koodal, Kerala, India, to Mathew and Kunkamma Madampil.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bronx Community College. He was employed by the New York Transit Authority, working his way up to MTA supervisor until his retirement in 1997.
He is survived by his wife, Thankamma; his sons, Mathew Madampil and his wife, Sophie Madampil, Abraham Madampil, and Alexander Madampil Jr. and his wife, Priya Madampil; and grandchildren, Maeleena, Tristan, Amelie, Eliana and Lila.
There will be a funeral service Monday at St. George Malankara Orthodox Church, 829 Windsor Road, Teaneck. Burial will follow at Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa.
Visiting will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., Dumont.
