Thousands of pounds of chicken soup sold to Whole Foods Markets in New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts has been recalled due to misbranding, the USDA announced.

The label said "Mom's Chicken Soup," but it was actually Italian Wedding Soup, which contains eggs, milk, and wheat, known allergens which are not declared on the product label, the USDA said.

Approximately 3,096 pounds of the mislabeled product packaged on Jan. 3 is being recalled by Kettle Cuisine, LLC.

Bergen County has four Whole Foods Markets locations in Closter, Ridgewood, Paramus and Edgewater.

Fairfield County has Whole Foods locations in Fairfield, Westport, Darien, Greenwich and Danbury.
