TEANECK, N.J. – The Teaneck community is rallying around a local family whose home was destroyed in a fire Sunday.

“One of our own lost her family’s home and possessions in a devastating house fire in Teaneck. Thankfully, Karen Hennig Lockwood, her husband, and 3 daughters … are all safe,” Meira Tiboldo wrote in a Facebook post encouraging people to donate to the family.

A GoFundMe campaign was set up Sunday to raise funds for the family. It had garnered more than $200 in donations by Monday morning.

“They are grateful to the emergency services, the Firefighters who risked their lives to save them and their house and the Police and EMTs who responded to care for everyone,” the page states. “As you can imagine, this is a humbling, challenging moment in their lives and especially so because Karen and her family are usually the ones helping and fundraising for others.”
