TEANECK, N.J. -- Shearit HaPlate of Bergen County is the area’s only kosher food rescue organization that collects prepared food left over from local caterers and restaurants.

The group then repackages it "and offers it to those that can benefit in a respectful way that helps ensure the recipient's privacy and self-esteem," notes a news release.
