TEANECK, N.J. — A Jewish nonprofit in Teaneck is aiming to support breast cancer survivors and those who are at risk or have been newly diagnosed, by offering a free informational webinar on Tuesday, Feb. 2.
“Take Control: Navigating the Emotional Impact of Breast Cancer” is a free, national Sharsheret Webinar taking place at 8 p.m.
It features Karen E. Hurley, PhD, a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in hereditary cancer risk, and Sharsheret Medical Advisory Board Member; and Shera Dubitsky, MEd, MA, Director of Navigation and Support services at Sharsheret, who will present critical information about the emotional impact experienced during cancer treatment and throughout the survivorship years.
The experts will highlight the effects of cancer on emotions, coping skills to help balance life with cancer, and the impact of the disease on relationships. A Sharsheret cancer survivor will also share her personal story, and a question and answer session with the experts will follow.
This program is made possible with generous support from the Julius and Emmy Hamburger Memorial Fund.
Sharheret Teaneck is located at 1086 Teaneck Road.
