Now "Toca Tuesdays" is part of his weekly routine and he shares the videos on Facebook.

"If I miss a Tuesday they'll say, 'Where’s the video?'” Rodriguez said.

"One of them said it was a reprieve for them during the day. They look forward to sitting down and watching the four-minute video I put out."

Rodriguez typically performs "Bolero," a genre of music that originated in Cuba.

Recently, he started sharing his performances on Facebook. His videos receive an outpouring of support from friends who request songs for future videos.

Rodriguez began his musical training at 4 years old. Now 35, he's no novice at performing. He comfortably performs all parts of the song including main vocals, backing vocals and piano. Although he wasn't always so confident.

He studied music at New Jersey City University, but stepped away after a combination of consistent stage fright and a feeling that he wasn't enjoying the pieces he performed..

"I learned a lot [at school]. Everything I learned I'm still applying to today," Rodriguez said.

"I wanted it to be more for me,"

He now works in Cliffside Park as a funeral director.

Rodriguez enjoys his current work but admits that making a living off of performing songs he enjoys would be ideal.

"I think about that a lot. That's my passion," Rodriguez said.

Currently, his videos are only available on his Facebook timeline, but he has ideas to expand to a YouTube or Instagram page.
