Mexicali Live, Teaneck

Number of Craft Beers: Nine on a rotating tap; 41 bottled and four in cans. The fusion restaurant’s menu is heavy on the South of the Border side with quesadilla, chimichangas, tacos and fajitas. But it also does fancier grub like a pumpkin seed and sesame crusted tuna.

Beer choices range from DosXX, Modelo Especial and Negra Modelo to Six Point Sweet Action, Victory Hop Devil and Rogue Srirachi Hot Start. They also like to showcase beer made by New Jersey breweries such as Brick City Brewery in Little Ferry and Alementary Brewing Co. of Hackensack. And, yea, they serve the standards like Miller and Bud, too.

Why It’s Liquid Gold: The concert venue is the place to go if you like to hoist a few while you rock out to Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana and Pearl Jam tribute bands or out-there groups like The Slambovian Circus of Dreams. Recently Kiefer Sutherland, a veteran of stage and screen known for his turns in the vampire movie, “The Lost Boys,” and as Jack Bauer on Fox’s “24,” entertained with selections from his debut album.

Table seating around the small stage is first-come, first-serve, so plan to arrive early. They have a “Can It Wednesday” event during performances of local bands with $5 cans and $20 beer buckets.

Cheers to Beers: 1409 Queen Anne Road. (201) 833-0011. www.mexicalive.com.
