"We're always looking for more Weed Warriors to help out core of dedicated volunteers," said Alexa Marques, executive director of the Teaneck Creek Conservancy. "The park is undergoing a full restoration and this group is helping with that. They remove invasive plants, plant native species and keep the trails clear, which includes putting down wood chips sometimes."
In the spring and summer -- when the plants are more visible -- volunteering is more about pulling up invasives and planting natives. In the winter, it's more about keeping trails clear.
You can sign up to be a Weed Warrior here.
The sessions are from 9-11 a.m. The conservancy is located at 20 Puffin Way.
