So, she decided to initiate a 30 day plan in between the two holidays to "manage the damage" of overeating.

"It’s really rough between Thanksgiving and Christmas because there’s food, drinking and seeing family. It’s really easy to overeat," Nagy said.

Nagy created a Facebook group and invited friends to partake in the 30 day plan to live a healthy lifestyle.

So far the group has attracted locals in Dumont, Rutherford, Fort Lee, Bloomingdale and Harrington Park. Nagy said many out-of-state friends have also joined in.

The group's guidelines are set by Nagy, but anyone can contribute recipes and ways to live healthier during the 30 days.

Nagy's occupation as a district manager for Arbonne, a company that sells products for a healthy lifestyle, contributes to her knowledge of how best to mitigate overeating, but her focus on health is more than just a trend.

"I grew up in the household that was all organic and eating the things that weren’t trendy yet. Before Emergen-C packets were cool I would add it to my juice at school and people would look at me like I'm crazy," Nagy said.

Many of the suggestions from Nagy's group focus on cleansing the gut, which she refers to as "the window to your health." Herbal teas, alkaline energy drinks and fiber supplements are all part of the program.

Nagy was part of a similar group last year and found convincing results. After completing the body cleanse, she discovered some of the foods that were regulars in her diet were no longer appealing.

"I cut dairy from my diet. I’ve kept super low on dairy for almost a year now. I never would’ve thought that’d be something I ever do if it wasn’t for taking those things away and seeing how your body reacts without it," Nagy said.

The group begins Dec. 5. Anyone interested in joining the group can contact Nagy at chelsey.nagy@gmail.com.
