TEANECK, N.J. -- An opera based on the historic 1911 fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory in New York City will be performed at the Puffin Cultural Forum in Teaneck on Sunday, Sept. 11.

The production is the latest from Award-winning composer and conductor Leonard Lehrman.

"The Triangle Fire" opera tells the story of the trial that took place at the end of that year, examining the actions of the factory owners whose callous labor policies were responsible for the many deaths.

Cast includes Alessandra Altieri, David Anchel, David Aubrey, Jackie Bakewell, Charles Samuel Brown, Augusta Caso, Bill Castleman, Kevin Courtemanche, Amy Glass, Thomas Smith, Michelle Pellegrino Wallace, and Nancy Zucker with Ellen Frankel, librettist and visual director. They will be joined on stage by members of The Metropolitan Philharmonic Chorus and the New Jersey Industrial Union Council “Solidarity Singers.”

Reservations are recommended by calling 201-836-3499 or emailing tix@puffinfoundation.org . A $10 donation is suggested.

The performance will begin at 4 p.m.
