Northeast Film Fest To Showcase Indie Works In Teaneck

TEANECK, N.J. -- The Northeast Film Festival, which showcases top independent films from celebrated filmmakers, as well as new talent, is coming Sept. 9-11 to Teaneck Cinemas.

The diverse array of films, selected by a committee, includes features and shorts from all genres, as well as documentaries. 

The 2015 Awards Gala was hosted by Mary Dimino (Saturday Night Live) with guest presenter Fatima Ptacek (Dora the Explorer). Robert Clohessy (Blue Bloods, Oz) was presented with an Award of Distinguishment in Acting and Fatima Ptacek was awarded with a Rising Star Award. 

This year, awards will be given in the following categories:

  • Best Actress (Feature)
  • Best Actor (Feature) 
  • Best Supporting Actress (Feature)
  • Best Supporting Actor (Feature)
  • Best Screenplay 
  • Best Screenplay (unproduced) 
  • Best Short 
  • Best Director of a Short 
  • Best Actress (Short) 
  • Best Actor (Short) 
  • Best Documentary 
  • Best Student Film
  • Audience Choice Awards

The festival's director is Larry Rosen, who began his film career as a director, but who also hasappeared in many features and short films as an actor. As an award-winning director, he has a long list of film credits, including several feature films which have received distribution.
