The Hackensack River is along the eastern flyway and is a stop-off point for many species of birds and water birds, according to a release from the Friends of the Hackensack River Greenway through Teaneck.
Birders might even be lucky enough to see eagles, as they have established a nest in the area along the river, the release said.
Bring a pair of binoculars. The group will meet in the Andreas Park parking lot near the tennis court.
The bird walk is from 9:30-11 a.m.
