Club president Tamarha Ellerbe presented a check to Samuel Davis, on the organization's behalf. The funds Rotary raised at its annual gala will help treat burn victims and implement burn prevention education programs.

The Burn Advocates Network notes that "95 percent of fire‐related burns occur in low and middle‐income countries, where prevention programs are almost nonexistent and open fires for cooking, lighting or heating are commonplace."

The Rotary Club also welcomed Rotarian Satish Rajadhyaksha, who was visiting from India. Rajadhyaksha discussed humanitarian and community health projects his local club is working on.
