At Soléne, a women's boutique store he opened on Queen Anne Road in January, he sells his facinators, fedoras, baseball caps, beanies, cloches and a variety of other handmade headpieces.

"This is a business I have grown up around and know very well," said the 29-year old Long Island native, whose parents own multiple headwear shops around New York.

"You'll be hard pressed to find another boutique store offering these services at such a high level."

Nearly all of Soléne's custom hats are made on site by Amar and his team of hatmakers. They range in price from $30 all the way up to $400. Amar also sells accessories, hosiery and skin care products.

"The store was inspired by Parisian boutiques," Amar said. "I think it really caters to something that Teaneck has not seen yet."
